About the Project
This research projects explores the outcomes of urban environmental education programs.
More specifically, this study will show how these programs influence sense of place
in high school students.
This research project is conducted by Cornell University
and several community-based organizations in the Bronx.
These organizations involve students in learning about the environment
through environmental monitoring, recreation, in-class activities, field trips,
environmental activism, stewardship and restoration.
The research project will help urban environmental education programs
in the Bronx and elsewhere reconnect people with the urban environment and
contribute to pro-environmental behavior.
